Your adventure begins on the western shore of Lake Klopeiner See, Europe's warmest swimming lake, and takes you past the idyllic Kleinsee. This natural lake dates back to the last ice age and is known as a hidden fishing paradise. Your tour continues along a wide forest road that winds idyllically through the woods to Kitzelberg, 686 m above sea level. Halfway through your gentle hike through the flora and fauna of southern Carinthia, you will see the Kleinsee lake, surrounded by lush green fields, and the church of Stein im Jauntal, where the tradition of “Striezelwerfen” is still celebrated today in honor of Saint Hildegard of Stein. Once you reach the top, the modern viewing platform offers one of the most breathtaking views of Carinthia's lakes, including Lake Klopeiner See, Lake Turnersee, and the entire Jauntal valley. The tour to Kitzelberg can also be started from Unternarrach.
